Environmental Responsibility:

  • Energy Efficiency: Our heritage boat, MV Kingfisher, is powered by a diesel engine that is regularly maintained for efficiency. We have invested in renewable energy by having a solar panel providing supplementary power to the boat and have installed solar panels providing power to the office.
  • Waste Management: We strive to eliminate and reduce waste by sorting it for reuse, recycling, or composting. We avoid single-use plastics and disposable materials.
  • Nature Clean-ups: We actively remove rubbish, plastics, and litter from the river and estuary environment, using our boat and smaller vessels for thorough clean-ups.
  • Environmental Awareness: We celebrate the river, landscape, and biodiversity to foster appreciation and understanding of wildlife, habitats, and ecosystems.

Community Engagement:

  • Local Sourcing: We use seasonal, local produce to support the local business community and showcase high-quality food and drink from the surrounding landscape.
  • Collaborations: We work with other local tourism providers to deliver quality visitor experiences. We also work in partnership to promote the Causeway Coast and Glens destination and encourage environmental protection.
  • Maritime Heritage: We aim to safeguard the future of our boat, MV Kingfisher, and share its story with visitors, preserving Northern Ireland’s maritime heritage.
